MAITE LARBURU

Maite Larburu crosses music through different genres, roles and materials in an attempt to recreate a sound universe that has always existed but never heard before.

She collaborates with artists from multiple disciplines as a violinist, singer  and music-writer.

Specializing in Early Music in Amsterdam, where she lived for 16 years, she has collaborated with the most renowned historicist groups in Central Europe for the last 20 years. Among them: Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, B'rock, Anima Eterna Brugge, Holland Baroque, Ricercar Consort, Les Timbres, Capriccio Stravagante, Solomente Naturali, Vox Luminis, Helsinki Baroque...

As a singer-songwriter she has published five albums; two with the duo neighbor (alongside Josh Cheatham) and three as a soloist (Hezurren Azpian, KRAK, Maizter). These last three works have been awarded several times (MIN Awards -finalist 2020-, Musika Bulegoa 2020, 2022, 2025).

In the realm of the performing arts, she has worked as a creator and performer in both music and theater (Axut!, Artedrama, 2020–2023) and is currently part of the cast for a new production by Ttanttaka company, set to premiere in 2027.

She presently writes music for documentaries and podcasts, such as Erreplika (Zazpit'erdi), Holobiontea (Ulu Media – EITB), and Se llamaba como yo (Isabel Cadenas Cañón).

She loves bricks for their color and coffee for its aroma.
