MAITE LARBURU

Musician Maite Larburu crosses music from different roles, paths and genres, trying to imagine a universe of sound that has never been heard but has always been there.

He collaborates with artists from other disciplines as a violinist, singer or composer.

Having lived in Amsterdam for 16 years and specializing in Early Music, he has spent the last 20 years working as a violinist with the most significant historicist groups in Central Europe.

Current artists: Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, B'rock, Anima Eterna Brugge, Holland Baroque, Ricercar Consort, Les Timbres, Capriccio Stravagante, Solamente Naturali, Vox Luminis… etc.

As a songwriter, he has released four albums; two of them under the name of the duo neighbor (with Josh Cheatham) and two solo albums called Hezurren Azpian and KRAK. The latter two albums have been awarded albums (Premios MIN finalista 2020, Musika Bulegoa 2020 and 2022).

Between 2020-23, he staged the works AMUA (Axut!) and HONDAMENDIA (Artedrama), immersing himself in the world of performing arts, as a music creator, interpreter and performer.

He has also worked on the composition of documentary films and podcasts: Replika (Zazpit'erdi), Holobiontea (Ulu media - EITB) and De eso no se habla (Isabel Cadenas Cañón).

MAIZTER will be Larburu's fifth album, due out in March 2025. This work, which is based on the ephemerality of music and existence, is currently being produced and recorded by Larburu at Musíkbürô studios.

His favorite color is brick and his favorite flavor is coffee.
