MAITE LARBURU

Maite Larburu crosses music through different genres, roles and materials in an attempt to recreate a sound universe that has always existed but never heard before.

She collaborates with artists from other disciplines as a violinist, singer  and composer.

Specializing in Early Music in Amsterdam, where she lived for 16 years, she has collaborated with the most renowned historicist groups in Central Europe for the last 20 years. Among them: Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, B'rock, Anima Eterna Brugge, Holland Baroque, Ricercar Consort, Les Timbres, Capriccio Stravagante, Solomente Naturali, Vox Luminis...

As a singer-songwriter she has published five albums; two with the duo neighbor (alongside Josh Cheatham) and two as a soloist (Hezurren Azpian, KRAK). These last two works have been awarded several times (MIN Awards -finalist 2020-, Musika Bulegoa 2020 and 2022).

MAIZTER (INHABITANT) is Maite Larburu's fifth and newest album. This work, which bases its inspiration on the ephemeral nature of music and existence, is being produced and recorded by Larburu herself at Musikburô studios.

During the years 2020-23 Larburu immersed herself in the
Performing Arts as a composer, musical and theatrical performer (AMUA -Axut! kolektiboa-, HONDAMENDIA -Artedrama-).

She currently works making compositions for films, documentaries  and Podcasts: Erreplika (Zazpit'erdi), Holobiontea (Ulu media - EITB) and De eso no se habla (Isabel Cadenas Cañón).

Her favorite color is the one bricks have and her favorite taste is coffee.
